How We Check Store Policies

Where the information comes from

Every rule on FreeShippingZone is taken from the store's own website: its return policy, help center, shipping policy or price match page. We do not use other coupon or deal sites, forum posts or news stories as sources for a rule. Each store page lists the exact pages we used.

How we write it up

We summarize each policy in plain English and keep the store's own numbers, dates and conditions. Where a store's own pages disagree with each other, we show both and say so. Where a store does not state something, for example a free shipping minimum, we write that it is not stated rather than filling in a number from somewhere else.

Dates and updates

Each page shows the date we last checked it. We recheck every store on a regular schedule and whenever a reader reports a change. Changes we find are logged with their source in our policy change log.

Stores we could not verify

Some large retailers publish their policies in a way we could not reliably read and verify. Rather than guess, we leave those stores out until we can check them properly.

What this is not

Store policies are the store's decision, and a manager can make exceptions. Our pages are a guide to the published rules, not a guarantee. Before you rely on a deadline, confirm it on the store's site or receipt.

Found a mistake? Please contact us with a link to the store's page and we will recheck it.
