Which major stores match competitors’ prices, which only adjust their own prices, and the exclusions, from each store’s own policy.

Two kinds of price matching
Competitor price match: the store meets a lower advertised price from another retailer on an identical item. Expect rules on which competitors count, that the item must be in stock, and that marketplace sellers and clearance prices are excluded.
Price adjustment: the store refunds the difference if its own price drops within a set period after you buy, for example 14 days at Target, Apple and Bath & Body Works. Keep your receipt.
