How to get free shipping without hitting the minimum
- Join the free program first. At some stores, free membership changes the rule: Sephora ships free with no minimum for Beauty Insider members, and American Eagle’s Real Rewards levels lower the threshold.
- Pick up in store. Store pickup and ship-to-store skip delivery fees where they are offered. Zara, for example, delivers to its stores for free.
- Count what qualifies. Gift cards, some marketplace items and oversized goods often do not count toward the minimum. The exclusions are on each store’s page.
- Watch partial returns. At some stores, returning part of an order that dropped below the minimum can mean a shipping charge.
